This is a body appreciation post.

I’ve had a two really good days back to back, full of self love and appreciation.

It feels so so good to look in the mirror and love what I see. Days like this, it’s hard to imagine what I ever disliked about myself.

Yeah, I don’t have a thigh gap, but my legs are beautiful.

Yeah, you can’t see my ribs, but my stomach is beautiful.

And sure, my collarbones don’t look like cereal bowls, but my shoulders are beautiful too.

My hair isn’t falling out anymore, my body is metabolizing food properly now, my skin has stopped bruising. And best of all, I’m eating.  And I’m happy doing it.

So fuck you Ana. I’m too beautiful to listen to your lies anymore.

You’re fucking beautiful and I’m so glad that you’re giving Ana a big fuck you. You deserve your happiness, baby <3

You don’t have to justify your body.

If you’re thin, you don’t have to say ‘but I eat all the time!’/’I have a fast metabolism!’

If you’re fat, you don’t have to say ‘it’s genetic!’/’I’m trying to lose weight!’

You don’t need to explain to anybody why your body is the way it is. Your body is YOUR body, and that’s all the justification you need.

I hope one thing that you guys learn from me is to never make apologies for who you are or what you look like. If you’re skinny, fat, or in between, it does NOT matter to anyone else’s life except for yours. Be body confident. Work on what you want to work on to feel better or healthier, but do it for yourself. Not because someone made you feel like shit about yourself. If you got a significant other or friend who tells you that you need to change one damn thing about your appearance, tell them to get bent because it does NOT affect them at all. You’re in charge of your own life. You’re in charge of your own feelings. Own up to everything about yourself and treat it as just a fact. Don’t let words like fat or scrawny be used as insults. We all have mirrors and know damn well how we look. If you own these words, you can not be hurt by them. What you do about your own self revelation is up to you. If you decide you want to hit the gym, do it. If you decide you need a makeover, go for it. If you don’t care one bit, then carry on. The point is that your body is yours and life can be taken away from you any day. Don’t waste it being ashamed of something that you should love.
